Dear old friend,
You taught me lack of judgment -
And that wild happiness came in the form of dew drops running in silence off folded flower edges.
And you also told me about
rolling laughter,
Coming off tongues
Light easy.
Even with Hot Fog swelling against the back of your throat
As you did.
Telling you there was a lot to cry about
And less for laughter.
---
And about perfumed sprays
That clog up noses.
And how gangly fingers can remind
me of you.
Even though they didn't really matter.
Back flips and tucks.
Hard work.
---
And especially
Getting up the next day
And acting like it was all
fine.
Because the world doesn't stop
just because you do.
Thank you.
