The ground overturned itself
Under the force of the storm
Mixing and churning bubbly
Smelling Earthy
Letting the drops tear it apart
And mix it back together again
The pavement hissed
Cooling and unruly
Beneath the open sky
Mud and filtered water rushed in tiny streams down pathways
And any crack it could fit
Flooding ant hills
Washing wet warm worms
Spilling splashing one over another
Fresh Clean New
Sunrises first cleansing.

Sense
Like electrical current
Running rampant
Through plump live cells
Echoing through membranes alike
And plenty
Raining whatever
You, you.
Taking the
Hope
You have left
A shock to fresh tissue
Left a mess.

Boom
Sometimes my foot steps fall faster than I want them to.
And tugs at metaphorical heart strings hold too tight to let me snake out from under their grip.
I just don't feel depth like I did.
I'm a linear equation.
But not increasing in rate.
I'm parallel to the x-axis.
Drifting forever to the right.
The left.
Carrying heavy feet one.
Over another.
Pitter.
Patter.
Drip.
Drop.
Splat.

Favorite Fridays
This week's post is three in a series of seven, the beginnings of which can be seen in the last few weeks Favorite Friday post.

Wednesday came at a frat party over beer
pong. Wednesday’s hands always seemed to rest on your ass, but you were so
drunk you didn’t care. Wednesday only lasted one night, and sometimes it takes
you a minute to remember his name. But Wednesday was sweet, and made sure you
were ok. Wednesday was gentle and never forced you to do anything you didn’t
want. But the problem with Wednesday was that you met at the wrong time. He was
wonderful and sweet but you were still trying to get over Tuesday. Wednesday
gave you confidence that you could move on. Wednesday freed you, and let you go
wild. Wednesday taught you that not all people are bad; you just have to meet
the good ones at the right time.

Repetition
Mismatch
Rag Tag
Munch Bunch
Oh boy
Crunching leaves
And patterned jeans
Sunsets
Lava
Boy
Stuck together
Not at all
Hidden in a bundle.
Right and light.
Play pause stop
Eject restart
Replay again.
Do not hit rewind.

Pitter Patter Keyboards
And the gentle pitter patter
Of keyboard rain drops
Could be heard sprinkling off the hands of students
This one is important
The voice echoes off
The walls
And the rain winds up
And pours onto the word
Documents
And notes
And maybe a few emails
And gently rocks
The worn
To sleep.

State Change
Laughing sunshine days
A cool breeze
But there's still bright light
Washing over you
You'd be drowned in it if you could
Splashing happy
Lapping waves of crystal clear
Hello familiar friend
You're warm today.
